AECUSAi was formed in 1987 and incorporated in 1999, to provide aircraft engineering and consulting services to the worldwide Business and General Aviation communities. 

AECUSAi is a technical consulting firm organized to provide Designated Engineering Representative (DER) services and aircraft engineering and design services to the aviation industry. The company is owned and managed by Jim Brown, an FAA Structures & Interiors DER.

The associates combine a wide variety of engineering expertise and experience with an emphasis on aircraft design and analysis (both metallic and composite). The associates have been involved in modifications to a wide variety of aircraft including virtually every transport category airplane in use today, as well as most General Aviation aircraft. The modifications have included executive/head-of-state interiors, winglets, reconfiguration from passenger to cargo and "Combi" interiors, camera and FLIR installations, antennas and other avionics installations, ECS and oxygen systems changes, airstair design, etc.

Jim Brown is a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) for the FAA in the areas of Part 23 / 25 Structures and Interiors. In addition, AECUSAi Associates cover a wide range of DER and DAR services covering nearly all FAA disciplines.
